Hi,
we are considering to view some houses in Duleek.

Would you recommend it? Does it have any good or bad reputation?

We both work in Dublin north so the commute shouldn't be too bad.
 
Some estates in Duleek flood as far as I know.

Donore is a good location and beside motorway for commute to Dublin.
Tullyallen would be very accessible too.
 
Some remedial works have been carried out in the past few years to alleviate the flooding problem.

Duleek is home to both a waste incinerator and a cement factory, if that's a concern to you.

Tullyallen is close to the motorway, but it's north of the toll booths, so there would be a cost to travel directly to Dublin - the alternative is to travel via Drogheda town.

A few year ago it was also the home to some very dodgy characters who sold their ex-corpo houses in North Dublin and moved "to the country".

Saying that, I have not been near Duleek in a good while so they might have moved on.
 
Thanks for the replies. I can see a bit bad feeling for Duleek in some of the replies.
 
Ashbourne would be better, much nicer town, more amenities, better public transport, closer to Dublin.
