Dublin Airport drop-off areas have become pick-up areas

How does one then ensure it's only used for this purpose and not free long term car park?

The first hour in Dublin is 3 euros. I don't really see the difference between paying this and waiting in the car park or wherever. Or paying somewhere else and then wait for a phone call to collect. Yes it takes a bit of time. However how many people do that really regularly? We collect from the airport a few times a year, I never ever collected from the drop off point.

My collections are like something from a Bond or Tom Cruise movie with rendezvous points, synchronised watches, careful messaging, and people almost throwing their baggage and jumping into a moving vehicle...
