As the budget has been hailed as an "election" budget just wondering which the payment cap of 144 euros per month was not reduced. Even a small reduction would have been welcomed

Who knows why? I guess they didn't want to give too much away. If you can get across the border, prescriptions from RoI are welcomed and considerably cheaper. Get your GP to issue the script using the generic name of the drug, the daily amount(mgs etc) and times(x) 168(6 months in pharma lingo). Then you can get a couple of months, sometimes more, on one trip.
