Double Jobbing - implications?

Hi,

I 'started' a new job at the beginning of May - but have yet to do a days work with this particular company! The delay is not on my side - but on that of my new employers - a consultancy company that relies on client projects to come in so as to be able to 'send' the consultants out! I have been on full pay since I 'started' - so no complaints there, and the few meetings etc etc I have engaged in with the company, assure me that there is no need for concern and that this timelag situation is something that they are used to dealing with!

However, I have recently been offered a 'temp' position to help another company out while I am waiting for my 'real' job to start up! The 2nd organisation are fully aware of my committment to the 1st org - and understand that I am 'on call' essentially for meetings with them, etc etc. While I am currently being paid by the original org - obviously, the 2nd job will be paying me too!!

a) Do I need to tell company A of this new interim role?? (I will be leaving job 2 as soon as a FT position comes up in Company A)....although my contract states rules around 'conflict of interest' - I dont think I am breaching anything here - however, should I tell them???
b) Is there any way that Company A could find out about me working in B if I dont tell them?? Could revenue/tax highlight it to them somehow?? I intend to take the tax hit in role B and leave my role A taxes as is....

Thanks for advice all!!

Re: Double Jobbing - implications??

I would imagine that Company A should be told.....it would be logical that they would decide what is a 'conflict of interest' and what is not.
