Hi I'm just wondering what the best option is for cashing a foreign cheque in Ireland? Are any of the banks better for ex rate or should I just go to who I'm banking with?
 
The few rare small value cheques I get, I find rate is better lodging with credit union.
The commission and charges makes any of the banks expensive.
 
Im not sure you can just cash a foreign cheque in a bank where you dont hold an account. You'll most likely need to lodge it through your account. UB wouldn't even exchange dollars (cash) recently without having an account.
