Doctor fees for repeat problem

I have a question regarding doctors fees . I have two small children who are currently going through various flus, bugs etc.

I live in the midlands and the doctors fees are 45 euro per consultation. Recently , my wife was in waterford for a few days and had to bring my son to a doctors surgery there. She went in for a consultation on a monday, paid 50 euro and all was fine. She had to go back for a consultation on thursdy for the same problem and was not charged !

In waterford the doctors surgery have a policy of not charging if you have to return in a period of seven days with the same "Issue " that you originally had a consultation for.

Is this standard practice ? The non charging if you return within seven days for the same query ?

thanks,

I'm not sure if it's standard. I had a very bad cold before Christmas and went to my GP. It still hadn't cleared up by mid-January so I went back and as it was the same problem I was charged €20 instead of €45.

I am not charged from consultation relative to same problem. Luckily because for the past four months, I am bringing my son to the doctor at his request for checking his ear every two weeks before a decision is taken to have him seen by a Ear and throat specialist. I will be broke if i had to paid for each consultation.

We normally pay e50 for a first visit to the GP and e25 for a repeat consultation. Also get a cheaper rate if the family attends together, and while I'm here with the child could you look at .....

Still an expensive couple of minutes (no wonder the blood pressure is up)

My doctor is normally E50 per consultation.Last year I had a allergy rash that had not cleared up after a course of cream and tablets.I returned to the doctor and he did not charge me for my visit...Only fair considering he was
unable to clear the rash first time.

I do not pay for a repeat consultation ... the consultation fee is 40 euro ... also in the midlands

Not quite on thread but heard lately...
GP rates have increased in France by 5%.
"A disgrace?"..."whats the government doing?"..."Lets take to the streets?"
Not quite! GP fee goes from Eur20 to Eur21.
Maybe cost of living is a lot cheaper in Paris where my friend lives.

I paid €45 to be told that I should fight off a chest infection and three weeks later paid a further €45 to get a script for €40 in chemist - Cork city

I went to a free NHS centre in London yesterday with a pain in my foot and the doctor told me I would need to get a blood test done.

Today I visited a private GP who told me that I was fine and didn't need the blood test. The 5 minute consulatation cost me €90.
