Displaying shells and fossils

Does anyone know how I can display a shell and fossil collection. One idea would be to mount and frame some larger ones separately, any tips on how to do this? Or anyone know a framer who has done this for them?

I framed a large dung beetle (bout the size of a cadburys cream egg) myself a few years back, I bought a box frame that had some kind of generic picture in it, opened it up, removed the existing pic, glued down some cream coloured linen type curtain material as a backing and then glued my beetle down onto it. Closed the whole thing back up and it looked great! Beetle still in place 4 years later.

At the time I got the box frame in Banana Tree - but Im sure youd find similiar in many places that sell frames.

I agree with the box frame suggestion, if you are any ways handy you can make yourself a nice box frame using thin sheets of mdf cut to size..

You could display them in a glass top storage type coffee table. Ikea used to do one - I think this is it, although its not easy to see from the picture. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50087072
You could also try storing them in a glass storage cabinet.
