I am about to become self employed for the first time in 14 years, and have one query.
When I was self employed before,I had a monthly direct debit paid direct to revenue set up to pay my tax/prsi etc.
Is this still available?

Yes, but remember if you are self employed you will be paying your income tax directly yourself and not through the PAYE system. Here is a link to the Revenue website with information about payment of income tax via direct debit https://www.revenue.ie/en/tax-profe...n/direct-debit/Direct-Debit-Current-Taxes.pdf

You may want to talk to an accountant about the first year or two as the commencement provisions in conjunction with the preliminary income tax rules can be a bit tricky. Monthly dd also available for PAYE (if you have employees) and Vat. If you are trading through a company you will be an employee for PAYE purposes.
