Deducting fees from returns on a fund investment for tax declaration

Hi,
Can anyone confirm or deny if ti allowed to offset the fees paid on an investment fund when declaring the gains for tax payment?

I am selling out of a fund I have, I believe I am liable for 41% tax on the overall gains. But I think I read somewhere that fees can bee offset?

So for example: Sold fund that I held for 5 years, fund value is now worth €10,000 more than the initial purchase price 5 years ago. But each year the fund manager charged me €250. So is the 10K liable for tax or do I just declare €8,750 for tax (10,000 - (250 * 5))?

Thanks

What kind of fund - the term fund covers a multitude of things?
Was the fee deducted from the fund?
Or was it an account fee, custody fee?

Most fees would not be allowable

I would be multi-asset type of fund, the fees were deducted from the fund as I never had any kind of a cash balance for them to take money from. The fees are not huge in fairness, I guess I was just clutching at straws!
