dc++ in ireland

I lived in germany for a while, and was amazed at the speed and scope of dc++, but i can't seem to get it to work in ireland, does anyone have it working there or any advice for me?
 
Doesn't ring a bell with me... do you have a link to the german product (may have a different name over here)
 
A friend of mine runs it 24/7. Any chance that you had a static ip in Germany whereas here your ip is different each time you connect, and that this is where you difficulty lies? I know my friend had to do some tweaking to get it working but it's doable.
