my parents have been renting a private home for around 4 months in Donegal e150 pw since moving from Scotland. My mother works and my dad is on DA. Unfortunately my mother couldnt settle in Ireland and has returnrd back to Scoland. My dad doesnt want to go back but cannot afford the rent. I was looking at your website and it states he would only be entitled to rent somewhere around 90 e pw but he likes where he is, can the cwo make exceptions??

The Community Welfare Officer has to abide by the rules of the Rent Allowance Scheme, Your father will have to find cheaper accommodation to comply with those rules.

As your Father is in receipt of DA he may have a medical condition that would merit use of Article 38 (Granting Rent Supplement above the prescribed limits e.g A disabled person who can't climb stairs and thus is forced to rent a ground floor property at a higher rent).
