credit card debt

A family member owes 2,500 on one credit card. He has a lot of other debts too. The company are looking for a minimum payment of 350. He could only afford to pay 100 off this this week. Will this keep them off his back if they see he is trying to pay off something. They sent him out a letter saying they were going to take legal action if payment is not received.

He should contact them and try to come to some arrangement rather that ignoring the letter and also contact MABS.
