Hi all,

Myself and boyfriend split up a few weeks ago. He had credit card in his name and i was additional cardholder. I am just wondering would i be able to get one? My only income at the moment is social welfare carer's allowance for my daughter. I would only like a small limit say 300/400 just for doing stuff online. I have 3,000 savings in the credit union. Where would be my best bet of applying to?

Thanks

Get a 'disposable' credit card. You just need to prove who you are with an ESB bill etc.

You register and they send you a 'card' .... you buy 'top-top' up card at shops displaying the payzone sign.

e.g. 3v .... you can 'buy' a card with up to €350 on it.

More details here: http://www.3v.ie

Might be a better option, the Visa debit card from Halifax, you can only spend what you have then!

I agree with Paddy, Visa Debits are like Laser cards - no debt but you can use it like a credit card online - perfect for purchases.
