Cost of mobile text reports?

Have been told that switching on the 'report' option for text messages on a mobile phone costs the same as sending the text message itself (i.e. pay €X to send a message plus €X again to receive a date & time report telling that the message was sent/failed). Will check this out myself but does anyone know if this is correct? (although this can be a handy feature, it appears that I may be able to cut my text costs by half as I've always had it turned on). Apologies for the long-windedness of the question.
Thanks in advance,
Logo.

Hi Logo,

I think this is incorrect because if you use the check your credit option (Eircell) and call *174# option you will get your current credit status. You then send a text message which costs 13c and duly receive a report you should find that your credit has dropped by 13c and not 26c.
