Copy from SKY+

I recently got SKY+ installed in my house. Obviously I use it to record programs. I want to know if I can copy the programs onto a DVD on my laptop. If this is not possible, can anyone tell me what other means can I use to copy.
 
The content will be copyrighted so it's illegal.

As far as I know discussions promoting illegal activities are banned from Ask About Money.

It's no more (or less) illegal then setting the video to record corrie.....

That method should also work fine with any pc tv card...
 
I found this copy+ software linked for the Sky+ entry on Wikipedia and thought it looked interesting. It seems to allow you to back up your recordings to any hard drive. Is it legal?
 
We have our Sky Box, DVD and TV connected by scart leads when we want to record a programme onto the DVD from something already stored on the Sky Box we have press the play button on Sky remote and then record on the DVD remote then watch the programme on the TV as it's being recorded.

As already mentioned there is some info on this in the Sky Manual.
