Converting garage into a coffee shop

Hi there,

Really appreciate any feedback on this as what is online is a little vague.

We live in a established area with plenty of footfall and traffic. We are thinking of converting our garage into a takeaway coffee shop.

I've seen this done in a nearby area and it's been very successful. We live in Dublin close to the city.

Would anyone have any guidance on where to start?

Keep in mind the old saying

"How do you make a small fortune in the restaurant business? Start with a large one"

Anyway, if you are keen to go ahead, I'd first make enquiries from your local planning office. Being unable to get planning might scotch the whole enterprise, so start there.

Second thing I'd do is get a part time job in one of the local places, nothing like learning the business from the ground up.
