hi
looking at getting a NAS server installed to primeraly use as a media server in the house and cAT 6 cabling deployed throughout.
One thing i cant get my head around is if i were in a bedroom how would i control what i view from the room... i.e how do i remotely control what i watch off the NAS server.
thanks
brian

Using my laptop I use windows explorer to find the file on the NAS,open it and away it goes. Can't help you with viewing on TV.

The NAS is just a file server, like a big remote hard disk. Your PC or other hightech device connected to it gets a list of whats available from it, displays it to you, you select the item and the PC etc plays it. To view itmes on the TV you need a which supports what wver OS is on the NAS, ie high end Samsung etc or a external media player between the NAS and TV etc
