I have just found out that my ex employer has refunded staff for an overpayment in there pension contribition for 10 years. I am is about 10 a month. My question is i was made redundant in aug 2006. but would have made pension contribition for 7 years previous to that.

I only heard about this as my best friend still works in the company. I am not sure what to do next. should i contact my previous employer straight away or contact citizen advice first.

I am not workin and am a SAHM so all money due would be very welcome in Jan.

What should i do

thanks

Contact your previous employer - no need to run to citizen's advice. They'll tell you what the story is on it.

have rang just rang them and they are really givin nothing away. not sure what there intentio is.. should i contact the pensions board or financial regulation.

Write a formal letter to the trustees of the scheme. I assume you are still a member of the scheme? You have not transferred out or anything?

Also - is it a DB Scheme?
