Any advice on who is the best value for providing contents only insurance on an apartment?

We went with FBD at around €93 for the year. I'm pretty sure the IFRSA site may have a survey on the costs.

thanks for that, I gave them a call and got a similar quote so will have a look at the policy when i receive it.

Don't call anybody.....

This is one case where buying over the web appears to be best.

Start off on allianz.ie; try 123.ie etc. Immediate quotes, often far cheaper than dealing in person.

Just got a quote from Allianz Direct and it was less than €100. Depends on the excess and what coverage you want but seemed reasonable enough and I think they give the best coverage etc www.allianzdirect.ie

Thanks for all the advice. FBD is still coming in the cheapest at €90. Allianz was €45 more expensve!

Like I said with Allianz, it varies what type of cover you want and for how much. They give a €40 online discount as well but if FBD is nearly 50% cheaper its a no brainer.

I called and visited online 15 or so different insurers for house and content insurance - FBD was the cheapest.

Not clear from your message whether you are the owner or tenant in this case. If you are the owner I came across something recently that I'd advise you to check out. Some contents policies do not cover floor covering - however some 'block policies' don't either - check both policies out to ensure one of them do cover floor covering. Don't find out like my contact - when it was too late.
