contacting gardai re summons

A relative got a summons for being drunk. She doesn't actually remember the incident at all. Is it acceptable to contact the garda who issued it to get the details? Can they give that information? Or would it look even worse in court if she couldn't remember the event at all?

Does she have even the slightest vague memory of what happened? If not that is very worrying. She needs to get in contact with a solicitor and seek legal advice, she really should have legal representation in court anyway.

None. It was nearly 9 months ago and she was extremely drunk.
