Confused about career change at 24

I am currently qualified as a residential auctioneer and have been working in this profession for the last 4 years.

However, for health reasons, i can no longer spend the same amount of time driving as i have been doing. (Was doing upwards of 600 miles a week Mon - Fri).

While i was commuting to Dublin for work i now wont have this option as i am orginally from the country and plan to move back there.

I am very open to a career change, but do not want to take a cut in pay. (I am 24 and earning €30k before bonuses.)

I would very much appreciate anybodys opinion on what career path they think i should take.

Many thanks

Clodagh

Hi Clodagh

Can you change job location i.e. stay in auctioneering but nearer home? There are various options available to you in this regard. Do you really want to change your career? If this is the case what are your interests? You can retrain, perhaps on a part-time basis? Have you been thinking of a career change and if so in what area? If you'd care to elaborate further I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice. You're still young and the world is still your oyster!

Hope this helps.

Hi Cole

Many thanks for replying.

There is not an option to go auctioneering at home....being honest i do not trust "rural" auctioneers - i believe there is far too many under the table transactions.

I also have a mortgage, so going back to college (while i appreciate how beneficial it would be) won't pay the bills.

Does anybody know what the rates are in the banks, and if there are good prospects?

Thanks
