Company shareholder while being on casual benefits?

Hi folks,

I'm hoping someone can help me with my query (I also hope I have the right forum - my apolgies if not!), pretty sikmple situation:

I'm employed 2 days a week on casual benefits at the minute (so I'm getting 3 days social welfare every week) and I've been asked to join the company on a more involved basis as a shareholder. It's a small but growing business and I guess they see a value in offering me shares. However, the pay would remain the same, i.e I'd still be down as an employee.

How would this work, is it possible to stay as part-time employed with casual state benefits while being a shareholder? Do I have to declare this to the revenue or the social welfare?

Thanks for any help :)
