commute, Blackrock - Sandyford Ind. Est

Hi,

Im looking at renting a room and had my eye on Blackrock, simply because my friends are nearby. I work in Sandyford Ind. Est. and was wondering what its like in the morning / evening or even if cycling is an option ( eventhough I havent been on a bike since I was about 7 ! )

Bike would be ideal, but for one huge problem: the hill on Merrion Avenue. You hardly notice it in a car, but believe me you will on a bike!

There is a fair oul hill up from the Stillorgan dual carriageway to the Sandyford Ind Estate. Good trip home though!

Driving is a nightmare. There is a queue from the dual carriageway all the way up Brewery Road. Why don't you rent in Leopardstown? Cheaper than Rock and closer.

yeah, Im thinking that way now. Whats Leopardstown / Stepaside etc like to live ??? get to town etc......

Grand. Lived there for a good while myself but rent out the house now.

The Luas is being extended up beyond Glencairn so car will not be a necessity after 2009 if you want to get into the smoke or Ind Est.
