Commision Payment after leaving work

Hi - I am changing job shortly. In my current job I am paid a quarterly sales commision. This is usually paid 2 months after the end of our sales quarter. i.e last sales quater ended 31st December and commision payment is due end of Feb.

I am due to leave the company end of Jan and they are advising me I will not receive my commision previous sales quarter as I will be off the payrole when the payment is processed.

This seems unfair and I will appeal it. I wonder if anyone has experienced this before or can give me some advise. Many Thanks.

I'm guessing they pay commission on sales in arrears to allow for credit customer payments to clear and returns to be processed. What does your contract say? There is no reason why they can't reactivate you for a once-off payment.
