Commerical lodgements with An Post

Hello,

I have a small company with money in one of the big Irish banks.
I am thinking about the risks involved with this if indeed there are any.

Can companies lodge money with the Post Office if security of deposit in the Post Office is greater than one of the now state owned banks ?

The risk is very similar. The banks = the state = State Savings deposits.

Deposits with An Post are invested in Irish sovereign debt.

All holder of national debt, in theory, have the same creditor status. Hence, the risk is on par with holders of Irish national debt.
