Am renovating and extending a house and am interested in using a coloured render on the exterior - anyone any pros or cons on this?

Its good if you pick a colour you always will like, there are also alots of expansion joints required so looks a bit busy.

I have a house with a colour rendered dash on exterior and have had issues with a heating flue which needed to be replaced.
After the fitting of the new flue the heating contractor didn't bother trying to match render which wasn't his job so I had to go back to house builders and was lucky because they were still in the area.
But after I was thinking what if I decided to change a window or do something else which meant altering or damaging an exterior wall will it always be as easy to get a match of colour with this type of finish and blend in the new change.
 
have used maxit. put on in on in one go off a teleporter so no need for scaffolding - big saving. so far so good.
Heard its possible to get bad batches of k-rend.
Works out the same cost as white sand and cement render.
