Collection of Rents for Foreign Landlords

I recently moved away from Ireland and have begun renting out my flat. I've been advised that I will need to nominate someone in Ireland to collect the rents on my behalf and deduct 20% before passing them on to me and I can then claim a return at the end of the tax year.

Does anyone know of any companies/firms that offer this service in Ireland? Names and phone numbers would be a big help!

Your tenant can withhold this money for you andf remit it to the Revenue and you claim your credit that way.

It wil also be cheaper for you - no fees - assuming you can trust your tenants !

You don't necessarly have to leave this to the tenant

Note: The agent appointed need not be a professional person, i.e., it can be a
family member or other person prepared to take on the responsibility and
undertakes to make annual tax returns and account to Revenue for the tax
due.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm not comfortable with having the tenants look after this and I don't have any personal contacts in Ireland that I would want to look after this.

Any suggestions of companies that may offer this service would be helpful.

I assume that posibly accountants would do this sort of thing??
