Collection of Disability Allowance and Bad Weather...

Hi all...

I realise that Disability Allowance must be collected from the Post Office within twenty days... Under normal circumstances, this hasn't been a problem...

However, as we all know, the current circumstances are far from normal, and like many others, I haven't been able to leave the house... I'd be coming up pretty close to the twenty day time limit at this stage...

I'm sure that there are many others in this situation...

I'm wondering if the Dept. is willing to give a bit of leeway on this???... Will I have to go to the local Social Welfare Office and plead my case???... Does anyone have any information on this???...

Thank you all...

Why not ring the DA osection? Your local SW office don't deal with DA so no point in going there in this weather, all they'll do is ring the same section!

The weather hasn't been bad for 20 days though! there was plenty of time to collect it before christmas.

Afraid it has been that bad since before Christmas!...

Footpaths have been too unsafe...

I last got out the Tuesday before Christmas!...

Thankfully, I got a lift this morning, and have managed to collect it, so all's well!...

Thanks for your help...
