Well he worked it out for us wit the new rates - it worked out about 220 or so.... With the interest rates dropping, then i presume that interest relief drops as your payment back is getting lower....
 
Still 220 is better in our pockets than it is in theirs! yvonne mailed me theyve received the contracts back whooo!! the builder is only up on site friday, between 7.30-3 i taught he was supposed to be there all week!
 
I rang him yesterday, i have his mobile number in my car so i'll get it for you later on.... He will be there thursday and friday.... Do you and your fella have a joint bank account already? We have to get one opened on Friday - just wondering if the solicitors asked for the account number....

If i sign the contract, and then find out something is wrong with the snag, is that tough **** cuz i've signed??
 
No i dont think so, bcoz Yvonne said to me that we have untill friday to send her a mail or get on to her to say if theres still problems or its good to go, and she knew we signing them later on that day. so im sure were ok to turn around and say what problems there are.
no we never opened a joint account yet, i have an account that i dont use, so we've just being putting money into that. but we will open a joint account. but for now thats were the morgtage is coming out, he never asked for the account number, but there the account details ive filled in on the direct debit mandate for EBS. im sure its just a matter of getting a new one when we get around to opening one... its just to much hassle at the mo to try get both of us with all our ID to the bank!

maybe he already has to many ppl coming up on thurs thats y he said friday, i cant get off work so he has to go up and do it
 
Yeah thats the number... I'm off on Friday - my boss only bought a house this year so she said she understands and its fine to take the day off!! I was just gonna ring in sick otherwise ha! Its gonna be a busy bloody morning - snag first, up to the bank to open the account, then onto the solicitors!
When i rang Jay yesterday, he said any time between 7.30 - 3.30 thursday and friday would be fine...
 
i took off the 11th 12th - 15th 16th off the weekend were supposed to get the keys! and then im off from the 19th Dec until the 5th Jan! cant wait! but suppose im gonna be busy.

ah least ur boss is understanding... theres too many ppl off out of my team already at the mo so im not budgin! but he was very good with regards to going up to do the snag and sign papers. he didnt have a problem, sure u shud of seen me when i was sorting out the morgtage i might as well not of been here i was on the phone all the time!

i still have 6.5 days left! i carried over 6 from last year tho, and i get 25 a year so thats how i can take all that... but u really do feel it from not taken any days off, i just feel wrecked at this stage.... i was in spain in june for a week, but i was in work the next day when i got back, and then i went again in august but again i was back in the next day again but id never wait this long again to take 2 weeks off together! but i was holding them off to move, and we were originally supposed to get the keys 1st week nov... i cant wait for a few days to relax and i will do that i tell ya, i wont be spending my time up in that house cleaning after tradesmen!
do u think you'll move in for christmas?
they'd have to take down all that fencing wouldnt they, well parts were people are moving into houses, they wouldnt expect us to wiggle in and out of that everyday would they!
 
Might not be a bad idea to leave them up ha ha!! Bit of security ha ha!! Ah i'd imagine they'll be down in the next couple of weeks when everyone starts moving in!

I get 25 days aswell but we were only offered this in September or something and i'd used up all my hols by then anyway!! The excitment since yesterday about it has left with with a god damn headache today - i need a few deep breaths and to relax a bit!!
Don't think we'll actually move before christmas, but hopefully if we can get someone to put the floors down before christmas then it'll be the following week!

Right Price Tiles is having a 70% off sale - stuff looks nice, i'm loving the floorboards on their website!
 
just looked there, that wild cherry is the same colour as the wardrobes isnt it?? or near enough.... loads of places are having sales at the mo, wonder if there'll get even better come Jan? i was going to get someone to come up and measure for blinds when we get the keys, do u reckon id be better waiting til Jan c is there any kind of sale?
i know i feel drained today after yesterday, theres nothing else i can do now all i have to do is wait! like the nxt phone call he'll be saying come get the keys!
 
thats the exact colour one i was lookin at ha! yeah, it looks pretty similar alright! I'd get it done now to be honest, we got blinds for the flat and it only cost 300euro including fitting and that was for 4 windows, that was with crumlin blinds so i'll be going to them again i think... I just hope they can do something with that attic window!!
I just can't concentrate at all! I have about 100 customer credits to get entered by tomorrow and all thats going through my head all day is "what do i need for the kitchen? what do i need in the sitting room?"!!!!
 
I know I'm the exact same, I have the same with work can't get anything done. I work just at the green and every lunch I'm in dunnes, Argos seeing what they have! Your so lucky tho you have the essentials we've to get everything!!! That's who my mam got her blinds off crumlin. My friend got a quote the other day off some place and they had 25% off, her whole house was €850 that was for 8 windows and a patio door

Did u ring the council about that deposit?
 
oh yeah, i got a letter from the solictor today confiming that the 3k was fine!!
yeah, other than the floors, we don't have a huge expense with it (i hope!!) 850 isn't bad - i'll see what crumlin blinds charge and go from there i think....

the other half went up to the house today, that builder was there today, he told me porkies and said he wouldnt be!

he went around the house with him and said what they are doing and what there not... he only just noticed when he went up that there was a slate missing off the roof, he was up checking the gutters and spotted it thank god, so the builder said he'll get that sorted!

He said he's sort out the hole in the wall and AGAIN... and give us a door for the attic, so id say u've a good chance of getting your letterbox haha!

But he said that they made a deal with the council that they will take care of any exterior painting, but i dont know how true that is, or if he took it up wrong.

emailed Yvonne anyway to say whats wrong so hopefully she can shed abit of light!

but he said he can't do anything with the doors, because when we move in and use the heating the doors will contract and shrink so then they wont close and will leave a gap!!!??? i dont know if this is true or not????
 
Well at least you know most of your stuff is being done... It could just be a case that they're new doors and a bit stiff perhaps - maybe after a while they'll loosin up?? Could be taking through my ass now ha ha!! Let me know what Yvonne says to that...
 
oh emma there defo not stiff, i dont have the upper body strenght to open them! (not that i have much anyway haha) but he had to force them open with his shoulder and they can say they'll shrink all they want but one is still half an inch bigger than the other... and now there all cracked and a bit of the door is falling off where they meet from being forced open. to be honest if they dont fix them i dont care, i'll deal with it... hopefully i'll get new ones in the sales!, haha im asking for alot in these sales! i'll keep you updated when she gets back to me, but i had to forward on a list of the stuff we had problems with (even tho the builder took note) to Yvonne and Kevin Kelly from Moston. let us know how u get on tomorrow! id say your all excited! oh i wish i had something to do again all i can do is wait
 
Hey! Went to de-snag the house today only to discover that they done NOTHING on the list!! They said they'd fix up a couple of things but thats it!! The loose banister he said was within regulations and he wouldn't be fixing it! The saddle board in the bathroom is broken because there are no tiles on the ground so whenever anyone steps on it, it breaks - he said they are still in talks with DCC as to whether or not they will be tiling the bathrooms and if they're not, then they won't be replacing the broken saddle boards!!! I was so disappointed leaving today, really not impressed. I know we don't have any major issues but it was annoying to see that they done nothing at all!!!
 
oh really emma that's terrible, I doubt there going to tile the floor in the bathroom for us, my friends boyfriend got one in citywest they wouldn't tile his, and my friend got a house in finglas same layout as ours and she got no tiles on the floor either! I just think there tryin to get them houses out of there hair as soon as they don't care!! Did they at least give u a letter box? U sort everything out with your solicitor

I doubt they will tile it but they should at least be replacing the saddle board!! TBH i'm starting to feel a bit like you ya know, just take the house and fix it up ourself!!

Solicitor went grand, he's missing a couple of bits of paper work but i sent them onto him today. Said he was gonna start drawing down the mortgage on monday??!! I spoke to the mortgage advisor about that today and he said thats way too early to be doing it because of the snag not being completed... He still needs the building insurance and life assurance documents too so he can't actually do anything without them!!

And no, we still havent got a letter box ha ha!! Said that they did have letter boxes in but someone nicked them Said that they will put them on when we all move in

Ya know your banisters, well is it loose in any way cuz i'm wondering if i am over reacting a bit with it????
