Hi all,

Even though I was married and my wife did not work in both these years I only had a single persons tax credits.

I am trying to use the revenue.ie website to file a tax return for both these years and reclaim some money but the website keeps going around in Circles.

Can I ask somebody to guide me in the right direction and show where on the site I can submit a claim to get my money back.

Thanks

Have you already registered your marriage, and elected fir joint assessment?
I'd suggest you call Revenue. When I got married there was a paper form I had to fill in because it needed both signatures to elect fir joint assessment. It might have changed since.
Once they have that, then you just request balancing certificates for each year.

Also you need to get 2013 sorted before the end of this year or it'll be too late as it will be past the 4-year time limit

(well technically it won't be too late because you've already started the process but Revenue will argue about it and you don't need the hassle)

I got married in 2008 and she worked until there were too many kids to be minded. She has had no earnings since 2012. I have claimed Married allowances from 2015 onwards. In this case would I need to still submit the paper form and if so what is that form

And don't forget to claim the homemakers tax credit for those years and the following years if you haven't already done so.
