Claiming Jobseekers from claiming credits.

I have been signing for SW credits for a number of years since taking redundancy. Is it possible to resign for Jobs delete as I have no income, pension or other means of finance as I have been living off my savings and redundancy money since finishing work. Naturally my savings have depleted over the years, so any entitlements I would qualify for would be most welcome.

You can call to the Intreo office where you sign for credits and ask to be re-assessed for Jobseekers Allowance (which is means-tested).

Thanks! I saw something online about the means test criteria. I believe it's the first 20k is not assessed then the next 10k at 1 euro /k etc. Next 10k at 2 euro/k and the balance is 4euro/k. I'll pop into the Intreo office soon to verify figures and other aspects. I find them to be quite helpful.
