Claim Mort Int relief on Bridging loan?

Is it possible to claim Mortgage interest on a Bridging loan. Drew down 1.5 years ago at start of self build & am now switching over to actual mortgage.
My other question is should I wait until Jan to switch over to get the benefit of full years relief (assuming answer is no to above) or can switch over now & just claim in January? any advice very welcome!

From citizens information site :

If you take out a bridging loan while you are waiting for the mortgage loan to come through or because you bridging finance between the sale of one home and the purchase of another, you can claim tax relief on bridging loans.
