City & Beach Short break?

Looking to send parents off for a few days ( 4 nights) to the sun!
They want to go somewhere there is a beach and a bit of heat, not too long a flight (max 3-4 hours), and if possible near a city.
They haven't been on a sun holiday break before so any where is an option really.
I appreciate your suggestions!

How about Nice, lovely city on the beach, Ryanair, cheap direct flights E10. Splash out on a nice hotel. Great transport system to see the sights, new Luas.
