Hi Guys

A friend worked for a company in the construction industry and his employer only paid his cif pension for 1 year and didn't pay it for the remaining 21mths . My pal is now trying to sort out the mess, the employer has admitted he should have paid the pension , which is fine but my friend is trying to work out how much money he will lose out on the pension growth. He is owed 3900 on pension not paid and he will lose out on 12 yrs pension growth. The employer agreed at the start of the job that he would pay both the employee and employer contributions. is there an online calculator that could give us a guideline of how much he could lose as we know it will only be an estimte as pesion funds go up and down.

cheers

Depending on the time frame, and the performance of the investment fund(s) in that time frame, your friend might actually be better off if it's paid as a lump sum now?
