I did search Brendan but didn't see anything about regular deposits of very small amounts like this for a long period. Apologies if I have missed them though.

No debts other than the mortgage. We work hard, save hard, enjoy life but we're also not savvy enough about making the best of our modest incomes.

In principle it's definitely a good idea to do so. But you may wish to post a Money Makeover post with a more detailed account of your circumstances so people can assist you more meaningfully.
Are these not all very old?
Not all of them.
