Child Benefit query number not answering

I have a query regarding child benefit, (basically waiting on application for over 2 years) not been refused, but am getting no update as to the status of application. When I attend local office I just keep getting number to ring and I try to stay on as long as I can but am getting no where, am on hold now for 9.5 mins and am being told that my wait will be longer thatn 15mins.
Any suggestions at all from anyone?

I would stay on hold no matter what 2 years is a VERY long time to be waiting on a decision? Something's not right.

Are you applying under the E.U regulations, i know they can take a lot longer to process, but still wouldn't of thought 2 years. There is another number you have to ring but i dont have that number. If you ring the 01-7043000 and as to be put through to the E.U child benefit section.
 
The bad news is it could take upwards of 2 years if it is an EU claim. In fact that would be the norm.
Have you moved house since you put in your application. If so they may have sent some correspondence to a previous address.
