Can anyone recommend a service for checking companies / businesses credit ratings?

If they are a limited company you should be able to get their accounts from [broken link removed]
If its an actual credit rating you want, i think there was a company called Dun & Bradstreet that used to provide that service. Or someone else suggested Rochford Brady but i don't have personal experience with either.

ICC was recommended to me and I got an online demo.
But the information was just a summary of what is publicly available with what looked like computer generated analysis of ratios.
I would like some form of service whereby the service provider is actually collecting information on the payment practices of companies. In other words, "it takes 90 days and constant calling to get paid by these guys"
As business gets tougher, I think credit problems are going to rise.
