Check water symbol on Dishwasher

The check water symbol came up on dishwasher last week when we had very low pressure - tank was almost empty but we didnt know at the time. Anyway havent used it since. Tried to use it today when water was on and tank full and symbol still comes up. Any clues as to what is wrong - can there be an airlock in dishwasher?

Any ideas of what to do?

Turn off the water at the valve (where the dishwasher flexible hose is screwed onto the qualpex/copper supply pipe) unscrew the flexible hose, when you look inside there is usually a mini mesh (gauze) strainer, this can sometimes get blocked, remove it and run it under tap or esle just give it a wipe off. Put it all back together and give that a try.
 
We got the dishwasher working last night. We did what Eng Car 1 said (thanks for that!) and it was very badly blocked. Gave it a good clean and it worked perfectly afterwards.
