Changing postage address when renting

Hi folks, I was living with my partner at her parents home for a number of years but recently moved and I'm renting in the same village. All of my post is still going to my previous address so I would like to start going through the process of updating my new address. The issue I am having is that when I try to update my address on various online accounts, it asks me to provide a copy of a recent letter as proof of the new address. My landlord still pays the ESB bill so I don't have any letters with the new address. Any advice on how to sort this out? Another issue is that my new address is on the main street of a village, so I don't know what would happen if I wanted to get a parcel delivered. The letterbox is only big enough for letters and there is nowhere for a parcel to be left safely. What do people normally do in these circumstances?

Can you get an eircode for the house you are now renting? An Post delivers to addresses rather than individuals at an address. Other deliverers may do things differently.

I have an eircode and full address for the place that I'm now renting. But how do I solve the conundrum of updating my address on things like bank accounts if it requires a letter with my name and new address? The landlord pays the ESB so it's not possible for me to obtain an electric bill with my name alongside the new address.

Any chance you have a TV, if so a TV licence will have your name and address on it
Thanks @Cervelo that is a good idea. I do have a TV in the house but no aerial or anything so I just use a Chromecast to watch content on the TV. I didn't even realise I needed a TV licence in these circumstances but will certainly apply for one now that you have suggested this.

Is there such a thing as having parcels delivered to the nearest local post office in the village?

If you're not home for an An Post delivery, they'll put a Notification through your letter box explaining the options. Such as picking it up at a Sorting office.

Poundman, do you have a MyAccount at Revenue? A revenue letter will also suffice as a proof of address.

Your lease agreement should suffice.

Then also change your address on revenue as suggested above.

On parcels, many delivery services have pickup points in local stores.

I have now changed my address on the revenue website. Is it possible to now generate some kind of digital copy of a letter in PDF format that would include both my name and the new address? Or will I just have to wait for a physical copy of my TV licence letter to arrive in the post in order to have a letter with my name and address on it?

If you go to your 2025 tax page and download/view your statement of tax credits PDF does it include your new address? Or maybe request a statement of liability for 2024?

Oohpod operates in many areas - owned by the original parcel motel owner.

An post and dpd (possibly others) allow you change the delivery to a pickup point. Both on a parcel by parcel basis via a link on the tracking or by setting up a delivery account with them.
