Changing house insurance

Hello,

When I started my mortgage I went with the house insurance offered by the EBS. I now want to change but have been lazy about it, I am in the middle of the second year.
so...
1) Can I change my house insurance in the middle of the year or do I have to wait for renewal?
2) Do I get the new house insurance first and how difficult is is to apply this to my mortgage?
3) Any suggestions on the best value house insurance?

I think you can change it mid year and get a refund on the original premiums. If not just renew at the renewal date. Chop around and make sure to insure for as close to the rebuilding cost and not the market value as possible. There are lots of existing threads explaining the different and suggesting possible sources for competitive quotes. Make sure to check the terms & conditions and not just shop around on price.
