Last year myself and my wife sold a jointly owned property at a loss of 80k euro approx. This year I will be selling shares which will generate a profit of 100k approx. Can my wife's loss of 40k along with my own loss of 40k be carried forward and offset against the profit on these shares or can I only use my carried forward loss and not use her carried forward loss?
Any help appreciated.

You can use the full €80k.

Capital losses are automatically shared between spouses unless they formally elect otherwise.
