I'm hoping for opinions on this cgt related query. I invested in a very new tech startup I believed in, several years ago. In a venture capital seed funding phase. The company thankfully made it and are doing well. So are making good with the funders/angel investors. The company I invested through are based in the European Economic Area. The sector is new technology. So when I look at the revenue site, to me it looks like it will qualify as venture capital at a rate of 15% CGT but I'm trying to make sure I don't make a mistake.
Also, the repayment won't be in euro. So would I calculate the gain from when I receive the repayment or when I convert it back in to euro.
