Hi,
The Central Credit Register seems to hold "bad debt" in your report forever? Well, as long as the institute deems it still to be "active"? Regardless if statutory limitation of 6 years has passed they are still allowed to submit it against your credit report indefinitely? Surely this isn't right?

ICB use to keep a bad debt on your report upto 6years last payment was made, after which it falls off. Even bankruptcy has a expiry date? All other countries follow this logic, how can the Central Credit Register continue to hold thus information indefinitely?

Thoughts?

Thanks

Yes seems unfair . Lenders are advised to disregard historical bad debts. I would imagine if a case was marginal the old bad debts may sway them towards a decline .
