for anyone interested here are three voucher codes with a value of 2 euro each for cd wow:

ae85f-debd6-60ed0-7ddd1
1b1d2-33e5c-f24c8-9d9f5
be8d1-b11a1-e3d54-a5ee5

These expire in 7 days.

I think the vouchers are individual to the person as my vouchers show different numbers.

have just checked with different e-mail address and the vouchers will be accepted. they are not specific to the person they were issued to.

One Caveat -

I ordered 3 cd's last week from CD WOW and got an e-mail yesterday to tell me they are awaiting stock and won't be shipping for an average of 2 weeks.

The old "stock issue" again, they NEVER tell you if goods are in stock or not on their website, their service has gone right downhill in the last 6 months (and this is from someone buying off them from the start).

I'll be re-thinking my purchasing from them from now on.

I pre-ordered the new REM in mid-March, have had 3 "sorry for delay in shipping" emails, latest date they've given me is 25th April.

Order cancelled, I'll be buying elsewhere!
I also got 3 x €2 vouchers, but won't be using them.

They have cancelled many orders on me after 3 months citing the out of stock line.
They are happy to take your money immediately and hold it for 3 months.
I would say that business is poor for them at the moment due to all the adverse publicity.

I stopped using the site for the same reason when I was waiting for a DVD I had preprdered months in advance - 3 delays and I finally had it and cancelled the order, sent a complaint about the lack of communication - notification usually came after the delivery date had been and gone - and have not used them since.

It is a pity because they were a fantastic site at one point.

Soes anyone use any other alternatives that they are happy with on cost and service?

www.blahdvd.com and www.play.com, do a search here also as there are others mentioned.

I just cancelled my orders with CD WOW and told them I wont be shopping there again, they are too much hassle, they won't tell you on their website if the goods are in stock or not, so they take your order, take your money and a few days later tell you they are awaiting stock and basically you'll get the goods when they get them. What a rubbish way of doing business. Reminds me of a Canadian crowd called DVD Soon (there was a detailed thread on AAM about this company before). How and ever, I am speaking with me feet and won't shop there again.

I also avoid www.play.com on principle.

They only allow you to pay them in Euro unless you ship to a UK address. Now their stg/Euro exchange rate is lets say less than favourable considering recent exchange rates. If they allowed me to pay them in Stg I probably still buy from them.

Indeed you are right, it is a tad annoying but at least they deliver when they say they will and you know what price it is in advance so... plus in my experience the cds I cancelled are only 50 cent dearer on Play, so to have them delivered ASAP for the extra 50 cent how bad ? Had I bought them there in the first place I'd be enjoying the sounds now !!!

Note: www.blahdvd.com has a delivery charge but sometimes you can get great bargains on there and their service is good too.

Following the cancellation of my order (see my earlier post), I ordered the REM CD from [broken link removed] - cost €8.90, ordered on 16th, dispatched on 17th.
I've ordered from this site before and have had no problems with them.
