My understanding is the current tax free limit falling under group B is 32.5k.
Can a person only receive one sum of 32.5k.?

Just to explain could uncle gift nephew 32.5k.?
Could another uncle gift same nephew 32.5k.?

Cheers D

I have a general inquiry related to this.

I inherited 44,000 euro from my uncle who died in 2004 - I didn't have to pay any CAT at the time as this was just below the then Group B threshold of 45,644 euro.

I have now inherited a further 30,000 euro from an aunt - the threshold being 32,500 for 2018.

My question is do I just pay 33% tax on the 30,000 euro I have inherited as I used up my 32,500 euro allowance in 2004 - or do I have to pay 33% on 41,500 euro (i.e. total combined inheritance of 74,000 less the 2018 threshold of 32,500). In other words do I owe 10,000 euro (33% of 30,000) or 13,695 euro (33% of 41,500 euro)?
