Hi guys was just wondering does anyone know if there is a charge for this ( I assume there is) and if so is it cheaper then wihdrawing from atms in hte UK wiht a laser card (seems to cost a minimum of over 3 euros every time! :()

This (best/cheapest way to access cash abroad) is covered many times before.

Cheapest way is probably to preload the CC account with cash and withdraw it. The transaction will be subject to the normal € to GBP£ foreign exchange margin for your card that applies to any non € transactions (usually 1.75% or possibly more with some cards). No other charges should apply. This is a cash withdrawal. For cash advances (i.e. cash on credit) there is normally a fixed fee, the forex margin above and some cards also charge interest from the date of the advance (some don't charge interest until the normal billing period has expired). Check your card T&Cs and the www.itsyourmoney.ie CC cost survey for details of your specific card's charges in this context.
