Dear AAM,

Would love to book a holiday to the Caribbean end Jan/Feb 2010, as most flights go from the UK, is it better value to book with a UK travel company and if so any recommedations or an irish travel agent. Also any advice on suitable islands, late 30's looking fo relaxation but not too quite.

many thanks

Hi Cara,
Was in Jamaica in September. All inclusive Sandals Resort. Absolute Bliss. Excellent Food & Drink. Entertainment bit cheezy (American) but most of Carribean is same, up to yourself to enjoy and have a laugh. Very little outhside resorts though.
Tropicalplacces.ie had 2 for 1 offers. Pay taxes of €350 for second person.

you get totally ripped off in jamaica and there are a lot of shady characters there.
taxi drivers will try rip you off all the time. in my opinion barbados is a lot safer and more friendly

I have booked my last two holidays with UK travel agents and saved loads. Try
hayesandjarvis.co.uk or
dreamticket.com

I just organised my own flights to whatever London airport i was flying from.

I have no affiliation with either company, just a happy customer.

Was in Barbados in May and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Booked it independently, flew Gatwick to Barbados and flew home via New York. Booked flights with ebookers.ie.

Thanks for info, re Barbados where did you stay I believe there is the south and west coast everything looks lovely but names of resorts, hotels would be appreciated

many thanks
