Hi All,
I have an event tomorrow in Dublin and being from Cork I am not all that au fait with the parking situation in Dublin. I have an event on in Buswells from 10 and I was wondering would it be easy to get a parking spot in that vicinity (maybe Dawsons street multi storey) around that time.
Beyond that I need to get to Dublin Airport for about 1. How long roughly might this take?
My thanks in advance!

Sorry I can't comment on parking in town because I never bother bringing the car in because the Luas is so handy. With christmas shoppers I wouldn't have a clue if you would find it hard to get parking at that hour of the morning.

A few ideas had come to mind about leaving the car at either Red Cow or The Square, Tallaght and getting the luas into town, go back get the car and shoot down the M50 to the airport. Then I realise that this would make it too expensive because you would need to pay for parking, the luas and tolls on the bridge.

By the way I heard recently that the traffic on Naas Road is still dreadful in morning especially at Rathcoole so you may need to leave yourself plenty of time.

I would imagine you would need to leave yourself at least 1 hour/1.5 hours to get out of the city centre to the airport.

Like Sue Ellen I dont have any great idea on city parking the point of my post is to alert you to allow time for the LUAS journey to and from he Red Cow P&R if that's your decision, it's a minimum of 35mins from the Red Cow to Abbey street.

You could always leave your car in one of the multi storey car parks. The nearest one to the Buswells is the Setanta in front of the Buswells or the Dawson Street behind the Buswells. To get to the airport you could always walk around the corner to Dawson Street and outside the "Pink" shirt shop on the St Stephens Green end hop on an Aircoach direct to the airport. www.aircoach.ie This travels on bus lanes so traffic is never much of a problem. Then get the Aircoach back. Costly.....you decide.

You could maybe drive to the airport first and park using quickpark (7.50 for the day) - then bus it to town from there

well if you're a Garda you could just park in the loading bay outside of Buswells like they all do. otherwise the multi-storey behind there is probably best.

it will take less than an hour to get to airport from there if you leave around 12. go down dawson street, turn right (there's no legal left turn) then follow road around to to the left down westland row, follow road around to left (Pearse Street) turn right at second set of traffic lights stay in second lane, straight across bridge then up gardiner street, turn right at dorset street then straight out to airport.
