I have a PTSB current account and a car loan as well with PTSB.
I took the car loan out in Sept 2023. I make my monthly repayment on the 25th of each month via direct debit. Repayments for October and November were made as expected. However, no payment was taken for December. I assumed the delay might be because of Christmas. I checked again today and still no payment has been taken.
My monthly payment is ~€500. My account balance has been well over the €3k mark, so it is not a case of a funding shortfall.
I spent the guts of an hour today in the phone with various PTSB departments. No one seems to have a clue what’s going on?
Any guidance on how I might escalate this? I am concerned there is going to be an issue with my credit report as a result. I would like to get this resolved ASAP. As bizarre as this sounds are PTSB in breach of the loan contract? I have no doubt I am being charged interest on my balance (admittedly not a huge amount).
