I am currently insured with AA who were the cheapest quote when I renewed a few months ago.

Now my wife has finally started to drive. She will be starting on a micra. I'm just wondering is there any companeis that do a husband/wife combo package that would be cheaper than us both going and getting our individual insurance.

It would also be a benefit if we could each be insured to drive each others cars as this may come in handy.

Axa do offer such a deal, but no guarantee it'll be any cheaper than you seeking two policies from different companies.

Definatly worth doing some phoning around as you're in a very different situation than you were last time you got a quote. Some of the specialist packages for women may provide cheaper quotes, so worth keeping the option of going with different companies.

Adding you to her car if you've a full NCB should have little to no increase on the policy (sometimes adding a spouse can reduce the quote) while adding your wife on a provisional with no NCB may or may not have an impact on yours (depending on company/age/etc.).

Hi,

I think Hibernian give a good discount to your partner/spouse or whatever, it would be even cheaper if you both went on the same policy but in my case we had seperate policies. She got a discount as i was already insured with them and as i put my name on her policy also she was entitled to a fairly decent discount!

most companies will reduce your premium if you put your spouse on your policy - due to an "insured and spouse" discount which they apply, as long as you are free of accidents claims etc
